All Sun Microsystems parts are known
by at least two numbers, the X-Option number
and the Part number. The best way to find out what part you have is the BarCode.
Every part that Sun Microsystems sells has a Sun bar-code. This bar-code has
both the part number and serial number of the part. (The X-Option number
is not located on the part.) Here is a sample Sun Barcode:
An X-Option may have multiple part numbers and a part number
may have multiple X-Option numbers associated with it.

Notes:
- The minimum operating system is 2.5.1 HW: 11/97 or 2.6 HW: 3/98.
- Mixing module speeds within a system is supported.
- A minimum of one processor per System Board is required.
- Set the clock multiplier to 2:1 with the command: sys_clock -p two-to-one -s -i 100000000
- System Boards 501-4347, 501-4786, and 501-4903 are not compatible with the 400MHz UltraSPARC module.
- System Boards 501-5240, 501-5278, 501-5279, and 501-5693 are compatible with the 400MHz UltraSPARC module.
